The 2013 Patron Cotillas Towers officially said goodbye Sunday night September 1 with the traditional ceremony of the "Burning of Raspajo" which took place in front of the old Town Hall before a crowd of residents and visitors gathered to bid farewell these celebrations.
The burning was preceded by the local mayor's speech from the balcony of the old Town Hall and a spectacular fireworks display on the Esplanade Castle Master Don Angel Palazón.
Thus, the reduction to ashes of this great cardboard doll-made one year by local artisans and Ruben Requena Pedro Fernandez celebrates every year the past huertano, agricultural and municipal vendimiador, marked past midnight to the holidays this year have been marked for sorrow of many by bad weather.
Before, the patron had starred in three acts: in the morning was held the feast of Our Lady of Salceda and a mass was celebrated Mass in his church, an act that was repeated in the evening with the presence of local authorities, with Mayor Torreño, Domingo Coronado, head.
This event was a prelude to the traditional procession with the image of the Virgin through the streets of the village and in which he was shown torreñas torreños and fervor.
At its conclusion, was launched fireworks in his honor.
Farewell to the patron
And although officially the festivities will be completed, there will still be two religious acts.
On the one hand, on Monday September 2 Salceda Church will host a Mass for the dead (20:30 pm), for which purpose it will be a levee to the patron.
And on Saturday, September 7 in the same temple is a Mass (19.30 hours) after the image of the Virgin is carried in procession to the Chapel of Coto.
