The "cobbler" workshop organized by the Department of Social Policy Cotillas Towers and taught by the "Project Abraham" entity was closed on the morning of Friday 12 June.
In this act of closing the 12 participating students have received their diplomas from the Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs IMAS, Miguel Angel Miranda, Councillor for Social Services functions Cotillas Towers, Fine Almela, and the president of "Project Abraham" Nuria Garcia.
Throughout the 40 hours of this free course, which had been taught in the mornings in the House of Youth Torena, participants were able to learn shoe repair techniques.
"This is the third year we conduct this workshop, which has great demand in our town," says Almela, indicating that its main objective was to "improve employability and help develop the skills and abilities that allow the employment and social integration excluded people ".
Also self-employment
"This workshop offered its participants with knowledge on the settlement of footwear and leather garments, besides motivation to self-employment, because its aim is to train the workforce to people at risk of social exclusion options to have access to employment" , Almela explains.
"Abraham Project" has a long experience in social and collaboration with the City of Las Torres de Cotillas, and is developing projects in recent years various training similar workshops in the city, such as recycling or sewing clothes.
