In the extraordinary plenary session held yesterday, October 21, the budgets presented by the Popular Party were adopted.
The other opposition groups, including Citizens, except number 2, voted against.
Abstentions by this council, Maria Angeles Garcia, is a clear case of turncoat and the breakdown of voting discipline of his party and the agreement that all opposition had to postpone the approval of budgets.
The Popular Party (ten councilors) still deaf to the proposals of the opposition (eleven councilors), which represent the majority of the votes of the torreños.
The PP was already aware that budgets would be approved while spokesmen for the opposition agreed to delay approval on the Board of spokesmen, the number 2 of Cs was meeting with members of the Popular Party in the city itself.
Approved budgets represent the continuity of the line that the PP has applied these last twelve years with his absolute majority.
These have meant turning his back on most neighbors and benefit a minority.
Thus, proposals related to employment, culture, citizen participation, support for the most disadvantaged social groups have been ignored.
To change Torres, which live in the city was an act of political treachery, an attack that reflected the popular will by voting a change in the political scene of our town and more harmful act against democracy in our recent history .
We believe that the PP approves these budgets with dishonor to seek and accept the vote of the turncoat councilor on the negotiation and the search for agreements and commitments.
Once again, we see that people who come to politics, do so for interests other than those of the people who vote them.
Democratic and political regeneration in our people will never come from the hands of defectors and the Popular Party, which has accepted the benefits of the betrayal of Mrs. Garcia.
