The Governing Council has approved the conclusion of two cooperation agreements between the Ministry of Agriculture and Water and the towns of Torre Pacheco and Las Torres de Cotillas for conditioning service roads located in those municipalities.
The Ministry shall, jointly with the municipalities, the relevant works projects.
Also, municipalities will make available land and processed the permits and authorizations, both public and private.
Upon completion of the works will be delivered the same to the municipalities, which are responsible for ensuring their proper upkeep and maintenance in subsequent years for that purpose, the required amounts in their municipal budgets.
The Ministry will contribute financially to the financing of development works with the contribution of 50 percent of their cost (200,000 euros in agreement with Torre Pacheco and 105,000 euros in the Las Torres de Cotillas).
The remaining 50 percent will be contributed by the municipalities.
Work under those agreements affect the rural roads of Los Camachos, Hondo Houses, Houses of the Guard and The Meroņo, in the municipality of Torre Pacheco, which cover a total length of 3.2 kilometers, and the ways of Soto the Ritas, Perimeter north, From Peseta Acequia de la Parra, Del Carrizalejo, De Villa Irene, De la Torre and Los Rodeos in the municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas, covering 5.1 miles in length.
In order to improve the present conditions of service, both for agricultural machinery and for access to farms and rural households in their area of activity will be carried out works for the widening of the platform of roads, improvements ground for the disposal of rainwater, construction of a sub-base granular material with a thickness selected according to the expected traffic and construction of a surface course of asphalt 5 cm.
