Born in Las Torres a poetry contest for the hand of the Foundation "Carmen Montero Medina" (19/10/2008)

The Department of Culture Cotillas Towers "will debut on 14 November, the Foundation" Carmen Montero Medina "in a ceremony to be held in the Casa de la Cultura" Pedro Serna, at 20 hours, and will be attended by the general director of Books, Archives and Libraries of the CARM, Francisco Giménez, and the mayor of the municipality Torreño, Domingo Coronado.

This new cultural entity Cotillas Towers takes its name from the renowned poet from Huelva, in turn a member of the Literary Association of Las Torres, also born with a poetry competition run under the arm over 18 years and as has advanced Torreño Councillor for Culture, Domingo Cava, "is endowed with a unique prize of $ 1,000 for the winning hosted, fully, by the Department of Local Culture."

Carmen Montero Medina was born in Almonte (Huelva).

His family moved to Catalonia, where she still a teenager.

After living there for more than twenty years in Catalonia, he moved to Murcia where he became a member of the Literary Association of Las Torres.

In 1992 he published his first book, At the end of the light.

Subsequent Legacy have seen the light of my children in 1996, from my soul, 1999; collection for older children: The Wizard and The Fairy Mariquilla Gazpacho.

More recently thinking ... OK, we can mention, and many others, the fruit of his prolific creative career.

Unpublished works and Castilian

In this contest may be submitted any theme citizens around the world provided they meet the requirements set forth.

The poems, which must be written in Castilian, is written in verse, will be unpublished and must not have been awarded in any contest.

In addition, the originals are presented under a pseudonym and in triplicate, and the extension of the work will have a minimum of twenty verses and a maximum of one hundred.

Each contestant may submit only one work and the deadline for the work ends on February 28, 2009.

The awards ceremony takes place at the Casa de la Cultura de Las Torres de Cotillas in late March at a date to be communicated through the website www.carmenmonteromedina.es
