The municipality of Las Torres de Cotillas continues its collaboration in the collection of books and school supplies to good use for Spanish-speaking children in schools and community centers in countries such as Peru and Nicaragua.
One activity included in the "Book Project", sponsored by the Directorate General of Environmental Quality of the Ministry of Industry and Environment, and the Department of Environment, Agriculture and Water Torrena participating for the second consecutive year.
So, last Thursday, January 22 was the second of the three listed under, following the first held on Monday 19 January by the volunteers, members of the Association of Women "Isabel Serna" of the municipality and that in this task comes the selection and packaging of textbooks and educational materials for later shipment to final destination.
A job that will repeat on Tuesday January 27 (10 hours) and showing that the figure of the municipal parks can go further, collaborating not only in the proper management of hazardous waste and bulky, but can also serve as collection point separate reusable materials.
Promoting sustainable development
With the slogan "Share the recycling culture" and the basic objective of reuse, this initiative aims to assist the growth and progress of these countries by promoting sustainable development through the reuse of materials and infrastructure Ecoparks Network Region of Murcia.
It also seeks recovery of these materials, which otherwise would become waste, delivering it in depressed areas of Spanish-speaking Americas.
