Lack of anti-crisis measures for young Torreño as Socialist Youth (30/01/2009)

Note from YS:

The Secretary of Organization of Socialist Youth Cotillas Towers, Francisco Romero, has publicly denounced the lack of measures to mitigate the effects of the crisis on young people "thanks" to the Popular Party government headed by Domingo Coronado.

In the words of their own number two young socialists in the municipality, "to a representative of the New Generations of the People's Party said recently that the youth policy conducted by the council, ruled by his own party is bad and leaves a lot to desired. "

Romero focused on two issues of concern to young people: housing and employment.

With regard to housing, criticized that "since the PP entered the Hall in 2003, has not built a single public housing, and everything that has been have been promises and projects that have not been conducted."

Similarly, said that "can not consent to double the salary of a councilor, such as the Urban Development, whose policy is more than enough in youth matters within its competence, such as accommodation for young people, to that has not been allocated almost one euro. "

Socialist Youth council requires the creation of a "Youth Housing Office" to provide young people with information to access assistance from the Government of Spain for rental housing, but it has also asked not to be there but put on the table their own measures to help young people on housing.

In terms of employment in the municipality, Romero has referred primarily to the rejection by the consistory of the proposal made by the Municipal Socialist Group for the use of the grant of the Local Investment Fund consisting of the construction of a nursing home in the municipality.

"The house, besides being a service that is being required by the village for years, have generated dozens of jobs, many of them youth, at no cost to the municipality, as the maintenance of it is reflected in the Dependency Law adopted by the Government of Spain. "

He has also criticized the fact that the city does not have any point of meeting on youth employment.

"We propose the creation of a Youth Employment Office that has a big bag of work that is effective for children under 35 years."

Romero has accused the council that "the Women's Business Incubator has been a Paripe local government, and that has not been launched yet and seems unlikely to do so soon."

Similarly, the council has proposed that "the nursery also should be targeted at young Torreño because they are women and young people who struggle the most to undertake a business venture."

Young Socialists Cotillas Towers have expressed satisfaction with the decision Sunday to dismiss Coronado once a Youth Councillor, Peter J.

Noguera, as his work as head of the council has been conspicuous by their lack of initiative and because it seems that, despite the years he has been in office, not yet aware of the powers and responsibilities of the council that hope that one day represent the needs of young Torreño.
