Cotillas Towers instilled water saving among schoolchildren (16/03/2009)

The Department of Environment, Agriculture and Water of the City of Las Torres de Cotillas-through the company "General Waste Company, SA", manager of the Municipal EcoPark and in collaboration with the Public Entity for Water (EPA) - has carried out during the first half of March a training in all schools in the municipality.

The activity was marked by two distinct aspects: first, it has moved 120 saving devices in faucets of the nine schools in the town Torrena; subsequently held a workshop with students from 5 of primary education in two sessions one hour, during which the students could see firsthand the water savings implied by these devices.

In total, have been about 225 students who participated in this initiative and have been able to bring first-hand information to their homes thanks to the EPA brochures are provided.

Also at home

It also has one of the groups consisting of a pilot facilitate saving devices along with a special bag to measure the flow out of taps, so that at home to repeat the experiment and thus be encouraged the placement of these devices on all faucets in the homes of Cotillas Towers.

"Instilling the importance of water conservation among young people, especially in a region like ours that has a major deficit of this well is a requirement that initiatives like this can make a fun and relaxed," says Inmaculada Fernandez Councillor Torrena of that area.
