The City of Las Torres de Cotillas, through the Department of Environment, Agriculture and Water, has taken various forms of reforestation with coniferous trees in a green area of the town, located in the Rambla Salada environment of the municipality, along the development of Palms Park.
The main objective of this action has been repopulating the landscapes of the municipality to meet the growing demand for green areas, a project that aims to recover a small space degraded by erosion and human activity, rebuilding a protective vegetation cover and avoid land degradation.
"The new woodland will minimize the desertification of the area and, in turn, slow down climate change action in this area," says the councilor of the area, Inmaculada Fernández.
To this end, 110 copies have been planted with pines ceded by the Directorate General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Regional Government.
The site also has a small recreational area with natural furniture, where neighbors and visitors to the town can enjoy the landscape of the area.
