Cotillas Towers offers socio reinforcement for immigrant children (29/10/2009)

The Department of Social Policy, Gender and Development Cooperation Cotillas Towers has launched a "socio-building program for immigrant children, aimed at children in the municipality of between 6 and 12, which will have free tuition and will run between this October and next June.

A proposal that seeks to promote equality and integration in school, teach them study habits and patterns of age-appropriate, promote multiculturalism in the center, develop self-control and self-esteem, provide an alternative place to play or teach Castilian ( both spoken and written).

This program, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration and the Ministry of Labour and Immigration, has three venues: the Social Center of Barrio del Carmen, with hours Monday and Thursday from 16 to 17'45 and from 18 to 19'45 hours, the Social Centre The Vicentes neighborhood, with hours Wednesday from 16 to 17'45 and from 18 to 19'45 pm and the Women's Center located in the Municipal Auditorium "Juan bath "in the Parque de la Constitution, with hours Tuesday from 16 to 17'45 and from 18 to 19'45 hours, and Spanish classes on Fridays from 16 to 17'45 hours.

Minor problems

Targeting young people who have, among others, problems of absenteeism or school delays, lack of language, lack of study habits, social and family problems, aggressive behavior toward peers or lack of respect for elders, in this proposed program activities different: educational reinforcement, dynamic personal self, reinforcing self-esteem, self-control, promoting tolerance, equality ... In addition, participating children will also enjoy, among other initiatives - for games that encourage teamwork and respect others, and crafts that encourage personal enrichment.
